Not backing down

Today's work outs (Yes, that is plural)

25:00 As Many Rounds As Possible (AMRAP)
15 Wall balls (20lbs
3 Clean and Jerks (185lbs) Had to be sure to use a weight I could not just touch and go.

5:00 On the min
3 Deadlift (275lbs)
5 Shoulder to Overhead (115lbs)

The first work out was very demanding. With this movment it took so much focus and concentration to make sure I was not going to hurt myself. This was especially the case when I was pressing the weight overhead. By the end of the 25 minutes I was 1 rep shy of finishing 6 full rounds. I did the last rep any way just to finish out the round, which felt real good.
At this point I was writing down some notes regarding how the work out went and how I felt. Then deep inside I hear a voice tell me, Do the 5 min work out. I was not sure I wanted to do it after just finishing the 25 min work out, but there was still something inside me today that wanted to push further. As I debated another couple minutes I thought to myself. If someone was working out with me would I be motivated to do this short work out? I knew the answer was yes. So i put back on my lifting belt, wrist guards, and grips, racked the weight on the bars and started the count down from 5 min.
In the end I am glad I did the additional work out. From the last work out my lower back and legs were warmed up and ready for heavy dead-lifts, and my shoulders were all set for the overhead presses. I was able to go right into the routine and finished strong with 5 rounds in the 5 minutes. I am glad I listened to the voice in my head that pushed me. Even though it was painful and difficult, it was worth it. I am going to sleep well tonight.

This is where the fun begins,
-Chris
