"Not sure...."

I weighed myself a couple days ago and to my excitement I discovered I lost another 5 pounds from this last month of training.I now weigh 226 pounds. As I have told different people about my latest accomplishment many are asking, "So how much further do you have to go?". My answer is, "Not sure". I thought putting up an explanation might not only give some insight to my approach to the weight question, but also give some insight to the new freedom I have felt with cross-fit.
When I was in high school weight and definition were things I worked very hard for with a bodybuilding regime. You not only looked at how large you are, but also work hard to try and keep proper proportions in relation to the different body parts. Cross-fit is not bodybuilding. It is more about what you can do instead of what you look like. As I have mentioned in an earlier post this has helped me not worry so much about what I look like and focus on my daily accomplishments in the gym. It has given me confidence that I can get through tough work outs.
So why the answer I give? Because to be honest my weight is no longer a stat that I take into consideration to determine if I am being successful with my exercise. I have been losing around 5 pounds a month the last 5 months. I would imagine that when I stop losing that weight consistently then I will be at the "happy" weight for my body that I would be able to easily manage. I eat healthy not to loss weight, but to properly fuel my body for the next work out and to recover from the last work out. Few things have felt as rough as trying to get through a work out when you have eaten a bunch of junk the night before.
I can see myself in the near future not worrying about my weight to a point that I will not weigh myself again. For the time being I am more curious to see how far this journey will take my body and when that goal weight will ultimately be discovered.
As always let me know any questions you have or if there is anything you would want me to write about.

Remember, this is where the fun begins,

-Chris
